It is about 25 km from Bijelo Polje and is located in the upper canyon of the Bistrica river at an altitude of about 800 meters above sea level. It’s one of the most significant speleological objects in Europe, both in length and in terms of the contents found and protected in it. The cave has so far been examined in a length of 16 km. In the first phase, it will be valorized, for tourist visits, in an area of approx. 950m. It is adorned with exceptional cave jewelry of stalactites and stalagmites, and several large halls that are intended as stopping places during the tour of the cave stand out in particular. The pedestrian path system is made of FRP material, and the entire area is adequately lit and equipped with sound effects and a protection system. The pedestrian path is designed so that, as a whole, all the cave decorations, canals and halls are protected. The entrance to the cave is designed as a windbreak area, so that its otherwise stable microclimate is not disturbed. The cave can be reached by a 1700m cable car that starts from the Podvrh monastery and goes over the picturesque canyon of the Bistrica river. Between the exit station from the cable car and the entrance to the cave, a service facility for visitors and employees has been designed. Care was taken to adapt the object to the found environment as well as all aspects of nature protection.
