Holiday house according to the size and needs of the author-user. Located in the exceptional landscape of the Bistrica river valley with the desire to integrate all the qualities found in the rich surroundings. The environment offers different scenarios during the day and at night, when it’s sunny, it’s raining and it’s snowing. A clear sky, at night, brings the moon into the house through the large glass openings on the upper floor. Most people stay here in the summer, so the position of the sun required a strong wall as a source of shade before and after noon. It also proved to be a good protection against the occasional wind that blows down the river valley. The two zones of open space are connected only by a window in the wall, “borrowed” from a demolished house. The interior and exterior spaces are integrated by a sliding wall on the living room that extends through the entire height of the house. The verticality of the composition is underlined by the fireplace chimney, walled with stone from the coast of Bistrica. An integral part of the house is several carefully selected fruit trees with large crowns as well as vines on the pergola that reinforces the entrance porch.
