The creation of an adequate area of the square is only possible with the unconditional removal of the existing monument to fallen fighters in the NOB. At the same time, the proposed location is not worse, but gets a quite adequate position at a higher altitude, which enables its observation. The square is formed at the height of the pedestrian zone of Sloboda Street and becomes its logical and inseparable part. The surface of the square, with the new buildings, is clearly defined as a recognizable whole and is perceived as a homogeneous space, which is the first condition for it to acquire such an attribute. With its “spill” towards Tršova street, the square stimulates the shortest connection of the dominant pedestrian routes in the city with its dynamism, which further stimulates its liveliness.
