The existing built context did not play a major role in the design approach, given that the garage building is intended to serve as a catalyst for the future development of the area. For this reason, while respecting the existing environment of open greenery, a design language of spontaneous, light form was adopted—one that follows the shape of the plot and blends with the landscape of the hill through emphasized horizontal lines with green insertions. The main volume of the building is broken by a central steel staircase on the façade, which clearly highlights a pause from the otherwise monotonous horizontal lines up to the final two floors. The ambiance of the newly introduced greenery, merging with the surroundings, provides an ideal basis for creating a “nestled” green oasis wrapped in a layer of flexible solar panels. In this way, the building becomes one with the hill and appears as a free, organic form, even though it is in fact a massive concrete structure.
