The body of the building is consciously dissected and spread out in accordance with the functional requirements and the configuration of the terrain. The elementary character in the design process has a reflection on the perception of the functions within them. The following are legible in the composition: the building body of the Primary and Music School, the gymnasium and the footbridge that connects Slobodan Penezić Street with Voja Lješnjak Street. Dominant cubes at the corners of the school frame the composition of the building and their facades are treated in a specific way. The other segments of the building adequately follow the contents of the school. The entrance part is especially emphasized with the motive that when approaching the building from the street, you can feel the liveliness and flow in the most frequented part of the school – the entrance part and the main hall of the school.
The composition of the facility, with its interesting playfulness of dimensions and additional contents, creates an authentic image of an educational facility, which makes it specific.
The main pedestrian streams that go along the sidewalks of Ulica Volja Lješnjak and Slobodan Penezića had a significant impact on the spatial concept. Their integration influenced the formation of the pedestrian, covered promenade, which is symbolically named “Student”. In addition to the functional reason, this street represents an important design element, not only of the school, but also of the wider urban context, as it will be used by the population that gravitates to the area.
