The meeting of vernacular and Islamic architecture in the Dinaric regions of northern Montenegro is specific for the exceptional reduction of the influence of oriental architecture. Here, the Dinaric House was adapted to the function of sacred buildings, so that the spirit of folk architecture achieved continuity. It was this fact that served as inspiration for the design of the building, a new chapel near the existing mosque, in the village of Bistrica near Bijelo Polje. The principle of transposition was applied in order to create an architecture of continuity, with clear determinants of the present time.
