That is why this theme was chosen as a model to create the best expression of the feelings that Bosniaks carry in their consciousness. It implies a deep connection with the old homeland, while at the same time understanding Burhaniye as their home, where they found a new homeland.

The memorial house of the Bosniaks, who migrated from the regions of Sandžak and Montenegro, in the proposed conceptual design represents a symbiosis of two types of houses integrated into a single whole. One is the former house of their ancestors, and the other is the one in which they found a new homeland upon arriving in the area of Burhaniye.

The reason for this lies in the fact that the Bosniaks of Burhaniye carry with them indelible, even subconscious, feelings and memories of the old homeland they left behind. This is undoubtedly present even in generations born in Burhaniye, who have never even visited the place of origin of their ancestors.

The memorial house is proposed as an open composition whose exhibited contents are visible from the street and sidewalk. This openness, which invites visits, also represents a symbolic relationship with both the old and the new homeland. No matter how dramatic the overall narrative is, an optimism emanates from the memorial house, supporting the idea of the indestructibility of the human spirit and the ability to adapt in all circumstances.

Since these memories in the collective being of Bosniaks contain an awareness of both the past and the present, the house that symbolizes their essence is also doubly coded.

In the ancestral house, elements and authentic photographs would be displayed to recall the former homeland, while in the new house, elements typical of the new life and environment encountered in Burhaniye would be exhibited.

As a dual structure, the two houses are connected by a bridge, through which visitors can clearly perceive both the past and the present, not only through the two types of houses but also through everything displayed within them.

On the ground floor of one of the houses, a space is նախատես for audiovisual presentations, providing insight into the historical depth of the departure from the homeland due to a complex set of historical circumstances, as well as life in Burhaniye.

Considering the typology of houses that existed in the old homeland, the location should be on a slope, which gives the entire composition a special experience during the ascent from the street to the entrance of the house, culminating in a gathering space.

The area above the house is envisioned as a place for meetings and gatherings, for various events that would further promote this site, which would not belong only to the Bosniaks but also to all residents of Burhaniye, as well as tourists visiting the town.

Nothing symbolizes the essence of human living like a house.
